Why a house doesn't sell

Most listings that expire have one main problem: price, presentation or exposure. Price is the number against what similar homes sold for. Presentation is the photos and how the house showed. Exposure is whether the right buyers saw it and could get in. The quiz above looks at all three and tells you which one your answers point to. If the answer is to wait, it says that too.

Common questions

Why didn't my house sell?

A home that sits usually has one main problem: price, presentation or exposure. Price means the number did not match what buyers paid for similar homes. Presentation means something in the photos or the house worked against it. Exposure means the right buyers never saw it, or could not get in. The quiz above points to the likeliest one for your listing.

Should I relist my house right away?

Not until you know what to change. Relisting at the same price with new photos tends to repeat the first result. If your answers do not point to a clear problem, waiting for a better window can be the right move, and the quiz will say so.

How do I know if my price was the problem?

Compare your list price to homes that sold near you in the same window, not to other active listings. Active listings show what sellers hope for. Sold homes show what buyers paid. If you never got feedback or the showings were low, price is the first place to look.

What happens to my answers?
